Some recent events, from my view here of late, have only served to reinforce the importance of this Foundation’s mission - and the impact we can have upon those we are brought into contact with. It really is true, what someone once said, “life is what happens when we are making other plans”.

From one recent situation where a couple who intended to set upon a succession plan for their thriving business (but due to the husband being taken prematurely), there is now the need for a re-assessment and overall re-direction … to another situation where an alum, after many years of marriage has lost his wife, and is now about to re-marry in his later years (but where they must now re-assure what a new level of survivor income (around social security) might look like for her, the new spouse, in the event of his absence … to maybe one last, a close friend of mine who, with his wife, now appear to have terminal states of health, but  don’t have a comprehensive estate and legacy plan in place that checks all the boxes.  In all these cases, and more we could cite, we can help foster the essential conversations that need to take place between these and a team of assembled advisors (whether they have them, or we can help network to someone for them).

So, with the above in view … how about you?  Does this find you “prepared – and with a plan in place”, or are you in fact in want of a comprehensive plan that addresses the moving parts of your unique estate and legacy plan?  Like so many other things we could cite, the right things don’t fall into place without intentionality and careful forethought – and this we’ve just laid out is what this Foundation was chartered and designed to be.  We are, first and foremost, about you, and what good stewardship (at all levels) might look like for, uniquely, you.  A good plan as we’ve described it can provide you with a profound peace of mind, as it assures that “what you want to see happen, for and to whom, and when”, is, in fact, what comes into place.  Still further, for those who know our Savior in Christ, a good preamble in these plans, can, and should, lay out how we have come to saving faith, and in doing so can help avoid a dynamic that the nation of Israel experienced, in Judges 2:10, where it states “a generation rose up that knew not the Lord or the works which He had done” – how tragic!

Finally, we would urge you to further consider the “power for good” that is inherent in and through your estate distributions – to your surviving heirs, of course, but also cherished ministries (as giving in this way can actually help “level the playing field” for the way in which it can lessen (if not eliminate) certain taxes that can preserve your estate valuation).

In closing, when it’s all said and done, our service to you centers upon what one has called “life centered financial planning” – and that hinges upon on nothing less than our “showing up as the best person we can possibly be”, and for “nothing less than a desire to serve you and your best interests, and those of your family”.  That is our solemn commitment, and our heart’s desire; always has been; always will be!
