Can I create my own unique Endowment?

Yes, you can, and as we say, we “make it easy”. Simply reach out to us to request the approved template for this, where you will find two brief sections for you to complete, or speak into. The first is to specify the type of student you wish to assist (largely, what major you might want to serve). The second area is “freeform” for you, where you can cite your motivation for entering into this, and what your unique story is – how the Lord has led in your life and what He has done before you.

So, just maybe one more affirmation … why create an endowment?

Simply stated, “with the awarding of the first recipient from your endowed scholarship, you begin a life-long impact in that student’s life – and by an endowed scholarship’s nature, countless generations of LeTourneau students will benefit from your generosity for time and eternity”.

How does The LeTourneau University Foundation execute and oversee endowments?

As we said earlier here, our role begins with the drafting of an agreement that meets your unique criteria. Once we are in agreement, we, along with you, sign the agreement (our Foundation President, along with the University’s President, in an act of solidarity and commitment to you and your wishes). From there, we set upon the careful investment of your Fund, alongside nearly 200 other Funds of this type at present. As each year passes, we play a role then in the awarding of eligible dollars to needy students in accordance with the University’s spending policy – what is referred to as “4% of the Fund’s (your Fund) rolling sixteen (16) Quarter average”. This spending policy as we’ve just referred to is based upon best practice among educational institutions – and with a careful investment strategy that is incumbent upon the Foundation to oversee, such a methodology as this assures this Fund will operate in perpetuity.
